Meeting Notice & Agenda

Come early to see the 2007 Motor Coach Industries (MCI) D4500 commuter coach that will be on display from 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. Yuba-Sutter Transit is operating this 45 foot, 57 passenger bus in scheduled service under a month long demonstration agreement.

1. Call to Order and Roll Call

2. Public Business from the Floor

   Members of the public may address the Authority on items of interest that are within the Authority's jurisdiction and are not on the agenda for this meeting. Public comment regarding agenda items will be permitted as each agenda item is considered by the Board.

3. Consent Calendar

   All matters listed under Consent Calendar are considered to be routine and can be enacted in one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these items prior to the time the Board votes on the motion unless members of the Board, staff or public request specific items to be discussed or removed from the Consent Calendar for specific action.

4. Reports
   1. Veolia Transportation Services, Inc. Contract Amendment. Discussion and direction regarding a possible two year extension of the existing operating and maintenance agreement. (Attachment)

      RECOMMENDATION: Establish an ad hoc committee with the purpose of developing a specific amendment recommendation to extend the existing agreement with Veolia Transportation Services, Inc. through December 2010.

   2. FY 2008-2009 Budget Issues. Review and discussion of the anticipated major budget issues for FY 2009 in preparation for the March submittal of the preliminary draft budget. (Attachment)

      RECOMMENDATION: Direct staff as desired.

   3. Surplus Vehicle Insurance Settlements. (Attachment)

      RECOMMENDATION: Declare buses #2827 and #2828 to be surplus; accept the separate insurance settlement offers for each; and, authorize the separate title transfers for both as proposed.

   4. Board Meeting Schedule Change. Discussion and consideration of a proposed minor change in the regular Board meeting schedule. (Attachment)

      RECOMMENDATION: Adopt Resolution No. 1-08 setting 4:00 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month for regular meetings of the Yuba-Sutter Transit Authority Board of Directors effective March 2008.

   5. Board Meeting Date Changes. Discussion and direction regarding a proposed change in the regular meeting dates for April and May 2008. (Attachment)

      RECOMMENDATION: Reschedule the regular April 17th and May 15th meetings of the Yuba-Sutter Transit Board of Directors to April 24th and May 22nd.

   6. Transportation Development Act (TDA) Claim Resolution for FY 2007-2008. (Attachment)

      RECOMMENDATION: Adopt Resolution No. 2-08 authorizing the submittal of an amended FY 2007-2008 TDA claim as proposed.

   7. Authorized Agent for Disaster Relief Purposes. (Attachment)

      RECOMMENDATION: Approve the State of California Office of Emergency Services Designation of Applicant's Agent Resolution (OES Form 130) designating the Transit Manager position as the authorized agent for the Yuba-Sutter Transit Authority as proposed.
