Sacramento Fare Increase Effective July 1, 2007
June 20, 2007 Yuba-Sutter Transit's Sacramento Commuter and Midday Express services will have a new fare structure beginning July 1st. The monthly Sacramento pass will increase from $100 to $112, while the combined Sacramento pass for unlimited use of both Yuba-Sutter Transit and the Sacramento Regional Transit District will increase from $142.50 to $154.50. The basic one-way cash fare will increase from $3.00 to $3.50 for both the Sacramento Commuter and Midday services. The cost of the 20-ride punch card will increase from $60 to $70 with this fare increase. The discount cash fare for seniors and persons with disabilities with valid identification, which is available only on the Sacramento Midday service, will increase from $1.50 to $1.75. Existing $60 punch cards will still be accepted through December 31, 2007 though an additional $0.50 cash fare will be required with each use. New or partially used $60 punch cards can also be returned to the Yuba-Sutter Transit Administrative Office through December 31, 2007 in exchange for like-value in new punch cards, monthly passes or tickets. Old punch cards will not be accepted or exchanged after December 31, 2007. The new $70 punch cards are now available at all local Yuba-Sutter Transit pass outlets along with the July monthly passes while $60 punch cards can now be purchased only from the Yuba-Sutter Transit Administrative Office. This is the first Sacramento fare increase since August 2002. It follows the purchase of seven new commuter buses to replace the four oldest buses and the August 2006 addition of new morning and afternoon Sacramento schedules. This increase will partially off-set the cost of up to two new morning and afternoon schedules that are now being considered.
